Newsletter Term 3, 2021

A very warm welcome to all our new families, and to all our previously enrolled families. Term 3 is off to a wet, windy and chilly start – congratulations to all our families who are continuing to commit to their child’s swimming progress regardless of the weather!

Term 3 ends Sunday, 26th September.

How to help your child get the most out of their swimming lessons

Running late is not only stressful for parents and children, but also for the teachers in the water. To help start your child’s lesson smoothly and to get the most out of their 30 minute lesson, please aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before your child’s scheduled class. This will allow time for them to use the restroom and settle down before their lesson. Relaxed children make better swimmers.

As with every skill your child will learn from reading to writing, from floating to kicking – practice makes perfect! The best way to cement your child’s swimming skills is to ensure they attend every scheduled lesson, all year round. Swimming skills need to be practiced and repeated so that they become part of your child’s memory and become second nature to them.

New Instructors

Our growing swim school at Canning Vale has new Instructors! You will already have seen them in the pool. We are excited about the energy and enthusiasm each of them is bringing to our lessons.

Photos of other students

We love our families taking photo of their children to show loved ones how much they are enjoying their lessons and progressing. However, whilst doing so, please ask permission of other parents around, as their child may fall into the background of your photo. Please be very careful to photograph ONLY your child.

New Survival Swim Instructor

Congratulations to Dani who has finished her training to become a Survival Swim instructor with Waterwise! Dani now teaches Survival Swim & Drowning Prevention to students at Canning Vale on Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons, as well as weekend mornings. Dani’s gentle nature makes her an amazing, nurturing Survival Swim Instructor. She is passionate about preventing child drownings and loves all her students.

Makeups & Missed Lessons

Please remember that a minimum 3 hours notice of your child’s absence is required in order to be eligible for a makeup.

All makeups must be used within the term if you are not returning for lessons the following Term.

If you are returning, they are valid for 3 months from the date of the missed lesson.

Please note that makeups are NOT guaranteed though we do our best to accommodate all students so everyone can get the lessons they have paid for.

Once a makeup is booked, that spot is yours and is locked in.

Please use the Customer Portal to notify an absence, as well as to book your makeups. If you have not yet registered for the Customer Portal, please stop in at the desk next time you are in and Reception can help you with that.
