Newsletter Term 3 2019

We hope you all had a lovely winter break in spite of the wet weather. We have many new families joining us this term. A very warm welcome to all the new students and to all our regular families.


We would also like to welcome Patrick to the team! You can find Patrick’s friendly face at reception on Fridays and Weekends. Don’t forget to get a stamp from him on your way out ? When Patrick is not working or studying, he also enjoys basketball, history and psychology.



Natasha has traded her Speedo in for FIFO life. We loved having her at the swim school and wish her all the best in her new career! Audrey is teaching Natasha’s Wednesday afternoon classes until we can find a suitable replacement, and Stacy is doing her Friday afternoons.

Father’s Day …

…. is just around the corner. Wendy is putting together a fun hamper for one of our awesome dads to win. To go in the draw, just email a photo of dad and child(ren) swimming and having water fun. The photo does not have to be taken in our pool but please only enter a photo that we may share on our website or social media.

Goggle Dependence

As a Drowning Prevention swim school, children in our Stages 1/2, Survival Swim and Drowning Prevention classes need to be able to demonstrate their aquatic survival skills with and without goggles.

Some of our young students are already goggle dependent. Please explain to your child that goggles are great but we also need to be able to swim without them. Goggles can be used for lessons but your instructor will also do a small part of the lesson without them.

Give Aways

We have some great wet bags that can be used for your swimming gear. If you would like one, please ask the Receptionist on duty. There are also a few mini sunscreens from Royal Lifesaving to go to our families.

Cancer Council

Thank you to all the families who donated so generously to our Morning Teas for the Cancer Council. We raised over $500! We will definitely do it again next year.





EVERY child who is not yet fully toilet trained must swim with a nappy – we encourage families to purchase a reusable nappy. We have environmentally friendly “Saving Waste” nappies located at reception – they are gentle on babies’ skin, economical and more reliable than disposable nappies when it comes to containing an incident. There are nappies for children 3 months to 3 years.

Free Lessons!

We appreciate our Waterwise families and love seeing new faces. By referring a new family to our program you will receive a free lesson or a credit to the value of a lesson ($24) towards next term’s fees for every referral enrolled through you. No limits!

Please make sure anyone you refer remembers to mention your name ?


In order to be eligible for a makeup we must receive a minimum of 3 hours’ notice prior to your scheduled lesson. If your child is sick and unfit for lessons, or if you will be away on holiday, please use the Customer Portal to notify us of your absence. You can also email or phone the swim school any time on 61073699. Just leave a message any time of the day or night if no one answers.

Please remember we cannot guarantee makeups though we will do our best to ensure every family gets the lessons paid for. Makeup lessons are valid for 6 months and can be used for our term swimming or VAC swim program, subject to availability. Makeups to be used during the term can be booked at your convenience through the Customer Portal. Any problems, just ask the Receptionist on duty.

Swim School App:

The App is used sparingly (we won’t spam you!) for short, important messages that need to go to every family, for example reminders of Term dates. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, search “Waterwise Swim School” in itunes App Store or Google Play. Please make sure you have notifications enabled!

Customer Portal:

The Customer Portal is where you can check all your enrolment details, notify us of an absence (so long as it is more than 3 hours before your scheduled lesson time), and where you can book makeups. There is a tab linking to the Customer Portal in the App, or you can use the link below:
